Saturday, April 10, 2004. Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding efforts. Other participants included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Diane Jones of Jonesville; Ron Munden of Marshall; Colleen Cookson of Shreveport; True Mann, Andy Riley, Jackson Wyers and Dorothy Metzler of Longview; John and Cindy Bartos of Houston; Carole Ann Boyd and Barbara Hudson of Dallas; Matt and Kay Dunaway of Galveston; Terry Votour of Alvin; Ann Derby of Sugarland; Russell, Jenelle, Ryan, Conner, Breanna and Tara Sellers of Austin.
Location: The banding activities took place just west of Caddo Lake in Marion County on Boots Walker Road (near Jefferson, Texas).
Weather Conditions: The morning low temperature was around 65º F, and the afternoon high was approximately 80º F with a light breeze. The sky was sunny and cloudless until about 11:30 a.m., then cloudy and overcast most of the afternoon.
Number of Nets: Fifteen (15)
Time: Nets were set up between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m. and closed by 3:45 p.m.
