Sunday, May 18, 2003. Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding efforts. Other participants included Tom Walker (Jefferson), True Mann (Longview), Bob & Dorothy Metzler (Longview), Colleen Cookson (Shreveport), J. Marshall Jones and daughter Katherine (Shreveport), Ron Munden (Scottsville), Roy Darville (Marshall), Carl & Diane Turner (Marshall), Bill Mauthe II (Uncertain), Marty Vaughan (Jonesville), Paul & Carole Fortune (Karnack), Kandace & Hannah Smith (Karnack), Scott Imhoff (Karnack), Judy Titsworth (Karnack), Donna Selman (Karnack), Henry Bradbury (Dallas), Sparky Anderson (Austin), Ellen Smith (Austin), Bill Brooks (Bastrop), Elisabeth Gager (Aspen, CO), George Furness (Chevy Chase, MD), Kathleen Kutschenreuter (Washington, DC), Roy Gardner and daughter Meghan and son Colin (St. Petersburg, FL), Martín Etcheverry (Montevideo, Uruguay).
Location: The banding activities took place just west of Caddo Lake in Marion County on Boots Walker Road (near Jefferson, Texas).
Weather Conditions: The morning temperature was 70º F when the nets were opened, and the afternoon high was 85º F. Skies were partly cloudy, with winds around 5 mph.
Time: Nets were opened at 9:00 a.m. and closed at 1:50 p.m.
Number of Nets: Nine (9)
