Saturday, April 5, 2008: Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities. Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson
, Ron Munden of Scottsville, and Beth Honea with her sons Jacob, Sam & Nathaniel, of DeBerry, Texas.
Weather
Conditions:
The morning low temperature was 49º F and
the afternoon high was 65º F. The sky was cloudy in the morning and clear
in the afternoon.
Number
of Nets: Thirteen (13)
Time: We started putting up nets at 9:15 a.m. and all nets were closed by 5:30 p.m.
Next Banding Date: We plan to band again on Saturday, May 3, which will be our last bird banding day for this season. We will take a summer break and resume banding in the fall around October.
