Saturday, April 3, 2010: Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities. Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Charlotte Ten Brink -- Houston; Rolf Laub -- Houston; Emma Laub -- Houston; Liz Hendrix -- Shreveport; Thomas Farthing -- San Diego, CA; Donna Gladhill -- San Diego, CA; Beth Honea and son, Nat -- DeBerry, TX; Ron & Carolyn Bova -- Quitman; Carol Walliser -- Edom, TX; Jerry Walliser -- Dallas, TX; Charles A. Steger -- Atlanta, TX; John Fortune -- Madisonville, TX; Diane Jones -- Jonesville, TX; Dorothy & Sam Metzler -- Longview.Weather Conditions: The morning low temperature was 53º F and the afternoon high was 78º F. It was sunny in the morning, and cloudy in the afternoon, with a southerly breeze.
Time:
We started setting up nets at 9:15 a.m. and all nets were closed by 6:00 p.m.
