Saturday, December 21, 2002. Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding efforts. Other participants included Colleen Cookson of Shreveport; Dorothy Metzler of Longview; Ron Munden of Marshall; and Tom Walker of Jefferson.
Location: The banding activities took place just west of Caddo Lake in Marion County on Boots Walker Road (near Jefferson, Texas).
Weather Conditions: Windy. The morning low was approximately 38° and the afternoon high was around 63°. Skies were clear early in the morning but became increasingly cloudy through the middle of the day, then mostly to partly cloudy later.
Time: Jim and Tom began putting up nets at 8:45 a.m. and the nets were down by 4:45 p.m.
Number of Nets: Thirteen (13) nets were set up in our usual locations (mostly brushy-edge habitat).

Weather Conditions: Skies were cloudy all day. The morning started out rainy (at 47°) and continued to rain until about 11:30 a.m. Rain began again about 2:00 in the afternoon and the temperature dropped to 45°.
Time: Jim and Tom began putting the nets up at 11:30 and the nets were down by 2:15 p.m.
Number of Nets: Nine (9)
