Saturday, January 7, 2006: Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding efforts. Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson, Tony Novak of Karnack, George & Susan Spears of Karnack, Charlona Ingram of Houston, Scott Brunner of Marshall, Doug & Judith Parker of Karnack, Ron Munden of Marshall, Sharon O'Neal and J.D. Cole of Plano, and JoAnn Pollick and Linda Bolick of Jefferson.

Special Note: A Northern Cardinal was recaptured today that was originally banded here on November 16, 1996. It was a hatch-year male at that time, which makes it nine-and-a-half years old.
