Saturday, March 21, 2009: Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities. Other participants and visitors included Tom Walker of Jefferson; Tony Novak of Karnack; Ron Munden of Marshall; Ronald Hollomon of Jefferson; Ashley and Kaylan Grisham of Jefferson; Paul Tidwell and Dale Freeman of Jefferson; Ron and Carolyn Bova of Quitman; Anissa Camp with the Fort Worth Zoo Bird Department; Eric and Christina Wommack of Mansfield, TX; Justin, Mason and Megan Wommack of Arlington; Ben, Bailey and Matthew Clark of Arlington; Vince, Jackson and Bailey Sturgess of Arlington; Tanzanya Hearn, Aaliyah Marshall and Sydney Singletary of Grand Prairie; Makini Shakur, Jason Mathis, Jonathan Mathis, Paige Mathis, Anthony Steels, Worthy George, Tyquasheia Smith, Clifford Justice, Ilekea Luster, Kepha Luster, and Stefan Luster of Smithland; Zac & Camille Burson of Haughton, LA; Chuck Bennett of Haughton, LA; Cassi Lites and Avery Piraino of Bossier City, LA.
Weather Conditions: The morning low temperature was 52º F and the afternoon high was 72º F. It was breezy from the southeast and mostly sunny with a few high clouds. Number of Nets: Twelve (12)
Time: We started setting up nets at 9:00 a.m. and all nets were closed by 5:00 p.m
