Saturday, November 14, 2009: Dr. Jim Ingold, ornithologist at LSU-Shreveport, led the bird-banding activities. Weather
Conditions: The morning low temperature was 51º F and
the afternoon high was 77º F. It was partly cloudy, with little wind.
Time:
We started setting up nets at 9:00 a.m. and all nets were closed by 4:15 p.m

Note:
About noon when Jim Ingold was checking the nets, he came upon a Red-shouldered
Hawk with a copperhead snake on the ground. The hawk was spooked off and left
an upset (and uneaten) snake behind.
